very cool and worth the trip up to see. I am by no means a spiritual person, but still found it very interesting to see. IU wouldn't drive up there just for that but there is enough other places to se along the way up and back that it is totally worth it.

Having never visited a temple before it was fascinating to visit here. It was very tranquil even though there were a lot of people there. The huge statue of Shiva is very impressive. We saw a few wild monkeys too which was fun.

A real jewel in the middle of nowhere. As you approach Grand Bassin from Le Petrin end, you first see the statue of Shiva towering above the trees, around 108 feet high, bronze in colour, wonderful. On the opposite side of the road they are building another statue, I am sure she will be just as grand from the small... More

It's really nice to see a temple dedicated to all the Gods. The lake itself is beautiful and the Shiva temple has nice statues of all Gods such as Bhagwan Shiva, Bhagwan Ganesha (a rare standing one), Devi Laxmi and Devi Durga. Nearby, there is ~100 feat statue of Mangal Mahadev (literally benevolent Mahadev or Propitious Mahadev). As per the... More
