To watch the horse races it is the unique place in Mauritius. Events are held normally on Saturdays or Sundays. Crowded at times and many food, attraction and betting outlets.

It was my first time at a derby. Was an interesting experience and there were lots of locals placing bets along with the posh crowd. Lots and lots of good views all around !!

Racecourse is more for punters. For tourists, it is only a green ring with parking in the middle. Best view is from Citadel.

As far as I am aware race days are every Saturday. If the weather is hot make sure you go in the VIP as there is virtually no shade in the middle of the course(plus you are really well looked after by Jacques and the team).
