Wildlife tours - Rwanda is a Professional Inbound Tour company; specializing in high quality tours that incorporate pro-poor tourism, responsible tourism and ecotourism approaches in the development, operation and management of all our packages. In addition, we organize cultural and community-based tours within Rwanda and other countries. In the year 2009, 2010 and 2011; 88.6% revenues went to local communities as direct benefits. Besides that, 12 local guides were trained and employed by the company on short and long term contracts; schools, dispensaries, child-headed homes, widows of genocide, reformed perpetrators of genocides also benefited.Through Community-based tours; women empowerment has been achieved and also encouraged innovations, creativity and entrepreneurship amongst the local community groups receiving tourists. Because of incomes generated from tourism in all community-based tourism activities, this reduced conflicts within many homes in villages where we operate. Our tours support conservation as our motto says, "conserve through eco-tourism" The Dream of the company is to see majority of Rwandans benefit from tourism through employment, capacity building and empowering local communities to improve their livelihood, alleviate poverty and strengthen unity among Rwandans. At the same time, we strive to build strong lasting relationships with all our clients and partners. We allocate over 50% of the company profits for community development.

We just spent a fantastic week touring Rwanda as a group of 7 extended family. Whilst many advised us against visiting because of safety concerns- these were unfounded and we could not have felt safer. Rwanda is a real eye opener and an example to the rest of Africa. Whilst it's past has been troubled the turn around in the... More

We were a group of 7 people visiting Rwanda with the intention of seeing the mountain gorillas in Volcano National Park. Our 6 days in the country exceeded our expectations in every way. We could not fault Wildlife Tours. It was outstanding! Our week, under the guidance of David and Eric, was fascinating, informative, fun, extremely well-planned and seamless. We... More

It's not often that the owner of a company spends days with you from pre-travel advice to getting you back to the airport personally at 10pm. The visit to Akagera and staying at the game lodge was amazing - down to the fact that David had spent 3 years living there and even had personally mapped the area. We travelled... More

Did the Gorilla trek and all thanks to David and is team for organizing this trip and arranging the permit on a short notice. I don't think anyone else is capable of doing that in Kigali as I contacted at least 10 different operators. He also showed a lot of patience in answering all my questions multiple times. He knows... We were generally ok with the arrangements and the way things were going. However, there were some issues. To book the licences to visit the gorillas at the Volcanoes Park the agency needed upfront payment. Once in Kigali, despite our e-mail reservation we were suddenly told the licences were not available after all. This created a problem and we had... More

I went to see the gorillas in a 2 day trip with a colleague and the trip itself was just awesome! Our driver was extremely nice and knowledgeable. The schedules were well coordinated and we had time to also visit the twin lakes. The experience with the gorillas is overwhelming and cannot be expressed with words. It is definitely a... More

I am a female traveller and I have just returned from 3 weeks largely solo travel in Rwanda, done with the excellent and well-informed support of Wildlife Tours Rwanda. I used buses, taxis, moto-taxis, company vehicles and often walked in Kigali and other towns. Always, I was given a warm and friendly welcome. I was often accompanied by the curious... More

David was fantastic - I joined friends on their trip to Rwanda at the last minute, and David managed to organise a gorilla tracking permit for me against all odds. Perfect day organized by the company in Akagera National Park. Just be aware that the quantity of the animals is limited.

Thank you sir for sharing your great experience on tripadvisor! It's true Akagera has diversity in specie number but not in huge quantities but as the conservation efforts increase, re-introduction of of more species, law enforcement emphasized etc; this will make it the best in the world. Thank you once again. Best regards, MD More
