Rubaga Cathedral is one most important symbols of Kampala and Roman Catholicism in Uganda. Located on a hill, the place provides great view of Kampala central business. However, over the years Cathedral grounds where people would sit and reflect have been used to start all...More

Beautiful building close to the local hospital and shops. Awe inspiring stained glass windows. This was close to where I was staying and was worth the short journey of less than a mile . Not sure I would go out of my way to visit...More

I decided to walk up the hill to see this Cathedral, having visited the Catholic Martyrs Shrine. The Cathedral is impressive in size, historic symbolism and maintenance. As I was standing at the door, debating whether or not to go in, a lovely lady approached...More

the church is old but very nice and big, situated on top of a hill. surrounded by trees and natural beauty. When you are at the Cathedral you get a nice view of Kampala city.

Rubaga Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese the head of the Ugandan Catholics. It is just a few kilometres out of the city centre in the clean outskirt town of Rubaga

I preferred this cathedral to Namirembe Catherdal as it seemed to be less impersonal and felt like spiritual home to the local people. It has an interesting shrine to the Ugandan martyrs.
