We felt honored to be playing a game of Golf at the prestigious Royal Thimphu Golf Club. The only golf course in Bhutan that is open to the public. This delightful nine-hole course is beautifully situated above Thimphu Tashicho Dzong built as Fortress in 17th Century and now functions as Summer Capital for the Central Monastic Body headed by the... Golf course adds a magnificient view to city of Thimphu. Centrally located and very large and well maintained. Place of many golf tournaments, considered quite challenging. Nice place to take a walk or appreciate Thimhu valley.

The golf course at Thimpu is by far the most scenic course I have ever played. Surrounded by the Himalayas, the 9 hole course is a delight to play. However, the thick roughs and the bushes as well as the unexpected water bodies are such that you can expect to lose a couple of balls. The most charming was the... More

This is a very rudimentary not-too-challenging golf course ... if you want bragging rights you should play a round here ... otherwise I'd suggest taking a pass.

The only thing worthy of spending your money here is getting a golf shirt to tell people you played golf in Bhutan. This barely qualifies as a golf course. There is no golf course grass. The greens are like shag carpet. The bunkers are unraked. And for my 9 hole round, caddy, a sleeve of balls, rental clubs and tees... More

Golf in Bhutan - we had to do it. The course was surprisingly good - rental clubs - they worked, caddies - one was 12!!! If you are a golfer you must play here.

Lakey, the owner of the travel agency through which I traveled Yetis and Dragons Bhutan Travels saw me swinging my arms around, and offered me a round of golf with her friends on this course. Having played in some nice courses in UK and USA I thought I will smash them down, but to my surprise the course turned out... More

Believe it or not, the Royal Thimphu Golf Course was very challenging. It is a par 33 (about 2800 yds) with plenty of challenges. The water hazzards are man made and are strategically placed and effective. The fairways are narrow with punishing rough and the greens are bent grass and put very true. The golf course is set in a... More
