The Garden of Dreams, a neo classical historical garden, is situated in the midst of Kathmandu city, Nepal. The Garden's design has much in common with formal European gardens: paved perimeter paths, punctuated by pavilions, trellises, and various planting areas, surrounded by a sunken flower garden with a large pond at its center. It is an architectural landscape that encourages the visitor to stroll around and discover the Garden's treasures from many different vantage points.

When the traffic, sounds, and pollution of the city get to be too much, the Garden of Dreams is a great place to take some time away. At the East end of Thamel, across from the Palace, lies a walled in park where you can rest your weary bones. It is a quiet oasis of greenery. You can grab a... More

Beautiful garden with plenty of fountains. Walking around you notice many couples together, it's a perfect place for a coffee date with the cafe inside the garden or simply sitting enjoying the calm atmosphere. Cost was 200 rupees per person for foreigners, a bit much for a small garden however it is very beautiful. You can also buy wifi for... More

A beautiful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A calm and tranquil environment. Although the coffee was highly priced - it was one of the best coffees in the city !

Worth a visit even if its just for an afternoon tea stop. Very popular with the locals, though not overcrowded, given the time of year and our visit was in the middle of the day. There are a couple of very nice venues , expect to pay western prices.

the gardens were a good short activity but would not be on the top of my list of must do's in Kathmandu. Having lunch or dinner there at one of the restaurants probably would have been nice.

The garden is quiet, greceful, and centrally located place to visit. It takes five minutes walk from old market street. It's very small garden for ten minutes visit. The senery is very nice for the pond and building. It's a good place to keep away from the noise and dust in the street. The ticket for some Asian country is... More

After a week of trekking this is an ideal place to come. Its quiet and the gardens are well organized. My children love to look at the flowers and lay on the grass.

Went here for some peace and quiet and I sort of got that but 200 rupees to get in is silly. The water feature in the middle is dry and nothing impressive to see.

I think it is the most clean garden in Kathmandu. It is historic garden and you have to pay 2$ for entrance and then you can have a meal or drink.
