This temple is situated at Budhaneelkanth. Its not that far from Thamel, main tourist attraction. It is a beautiful temple. In this temple the main attraction is a lying Vishnu God in water. People come to seek his blessings.

It's a long climb up there, but well worth the effort. Enjoyed a Perfect Day with my Host/Companion Ramhari Neupane from Hotel Dream City.

Fantastic views and drive up to the temple. It was very quiet when we went. Lots of steps and a fabulous view of the valley. Lots of pigeons which appear to be destroying parts of the temple.

The panoramic views through the Sanchu valley are mesmerizing with wide green central plain, surrounded by mountains. It is on the ancient trade route to Tibet and said that Lichchhavi period (2nd to 9th Century AD) settlement of Sankhu lies on the northeastern corner of the Kathmandu Valley. On the way to Vajrayogini Temple, we can observe the traditional Newari... More

Heard from the locals that this is the only Buddhist and Hindu temple combined in Nepal. This is very near to the yoga resort that I had stayed. We took a short hike to the temple. It's quite a pity that it's quite damaged from the earthquake. We aren't able to see the interior of it.

What a lovely way to spend a fall afternoon, hiking up the temple steps and just marveling at the amount of energy put into this sacred place over the years. Lovely wood carvings abound!

An truly amazing little gem of a Temple that that enthralls and mesmerizes one with its character and charm. The small town of Sankhu bellow this temple is worth the visit all by itself with its small Newari shrines and powder coloured stones. The small 40 minute walk up to the temple is brilliant and built with antisipation which doesn't... More

Even when it was damaged by April 25th and May 12th earthquakes, Vajrayogini still keeps the holy mistery that attracts many local, not matter if they are buddhists or hinduists. Only a few foreigners dare to go all the way to the Temple, but believe me, is really worthy.
