Ancient Temple

Maybe I visited too many temples in Taiwan and China, so its just another temple for me. For Western or travellers, should go and visit.

Located a about 20 minutes from Tainan Train Station is this very ornate temple. The hotel staff said its the most decorated temple in Taiwan. I am not sure I agree with that, but it was certainly pretty spectacular!! The giant guardian demons out front, the multi story access to the upper chambers, the moat with the turtles, and a... This is a neat temple, very large and ornate. If you've been in Taiwan for long, it's easy to get "temple fatigue" from visiting/seeing so many temples, but this one is worth seeing if you have the time (it's a little way away from the city center). Probably half and hour or so is sufficient. However, if you come near... More

A beautiful well maintained temple. Architecture is fantastic and friendly local people, although they speak little English.

I'm the local at Luerhmen in Tainan. It's the biggest the temple in Taiwan, and the second one in the Asia. If you want to learn the temple culture in Taiwan, It's your first must-go place. After that, you must go to eat the fresh seafood in Chiku district, which is next to Luerhmen.

Really big and stunning temple, or I should say temples. At the start you can see only the Tao's temple but if you keep on walking you will find a Buddhist temple with 3 floors, just amazing! If you come to Tainan you must visit here!
