The largest zoo in Asia, this was original a private zoological garden. The giant panda house, Formosan animal area, koala house and Asian tropical rainforest area are of particular note.

we spent whole day in the zoo and yet to cover all exhibits. it is spacious, a lot of walking needed but it is great as animals have big space to move around. Generally animals looks strong, active and well taken care of. There is...More

We got to see most all of the animals, even in the humidity, as their enclosures are set up so that they are in view. The black bear was swimming, the lions napping, the otters playing, the monkeys climbing, the hippos just standing there, that...More

The best zoo I have ever been too. We arrived at 9am for opening on a weekday and felt we had the whole park to ourselves. We got to see the pandas when they were up and about and with no crowd at all. The...More

Unfortunately, we didn't see many of the animals as they were not in the enclosures. The beautiful landscaping , flora and fauna made up for it. We did see a few concrete animals which was rather perplexing. Nevertheless, we had a fun day.

We went here recently and as noted in another review, we didn't see too many animals. However, the weather is dreadful and I can't blame them! The zoo is designed on a long stretch. When you walk in you can see that to reach the...More

We must have visited at a bad time, as most of the enclosures had no animals in them. The zoo is very old and dated. Nothing spectacular, fun or exciting at this zoo. Of all the zoo we have been to, this would have been...More

Taipei zoo is good at convenient transport, variety of animals. Entrance fee NT$60 for adult and NT$30 for kids. Recommend to take shuttle bus to peak and visit the whole zoo comfortably.

Visited this zoo mainly for its pandas and koalas and they did not disappoint. They also house camels and llamas which were very interesting for me. Great for kids.

The zoo itself is huge, so you'll be spending most of the time walking from one enclosure to another. One thing that bothered me is that I can't seem to find most of the animals, and there are quite a number of enclosures which are...More

I would not recommend this. it makes more sense to visit zoo first and take a break at maokong. most likely you'll spend at least half day in zoo. Then you take gondola up to Maokong, find a nice tea house and enjoy sunset... More

hi! just take the MRT. Much cheaper and stops just a few 100 meters from the zoo. I took the Gondola on the way back just for fun otherwise you can certainly take the MRT back too.

If you are traveling from NY, EVA Air offers a non-stop flight from JFK to Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). Songshan Airport (TSA) is closer to Taipei city and the zoo, but you would have to connect at another airport to... More
