We had wanted to visit this museum on our last visit two years back but it was closed on Mondays. This time round, we managed to tour the house, see the baths and learn a bit more about the Japanese influence on Taiwan with regards to hot springs and baths. What was interesting for me was the video shown about... More

It is a mix of the Japanese and Western architect in this building. However it was very lovely inside, with informative details about the history of hot spring culture in Beitou. The volunteer elders there were also very cheerful and helpful, making us somehow feel like we were in the old time :)

There is not much to see there - if you are looking for the baths you should go to the hot springs! It has a sense of Japanese old style house, but not much to do. It is for free - so cannot complain.

This museum is in the "hot springs capital" of Taipei. It is located along a historic road that is very nice to walk and learn more about the culture. If you come to this area, you will also see the public library which is a very beautiful architecture, you will walk to the thermal waters, etc. It is easy to... More

Visit this place and understand even more the important role hot springs play in Taiwanese culture. It is free and can get a bit crowded but it is definitely worth the visit. They even have cultural presentations during weekends.

The hot spring museum is a great way to get oriented to the historical and current use of Beitou hot springs. The displays were all great and housed in the historical Japanese building. The museum is free and you'll be required to use their slippers inside the building (or purchase disposable ones). We learned about the history of the area... More

One day tour to Beitou Hot Spring Museum and the beautiful Japanese-style building attracts my attention. The museum is now listed as Taiwan's third-grade monuments. There are first floor and second floor exhibition in the museum. To introduce the history of Beitou hot springs as the theme, from the principle of hot springs, Beitou stone, volcano to the late Beitou... More

If you want to find out about the Hot Spring in Beitou, then come to this museum. You will learn a lot. The museum does not allow you to wear your street shoes inside, but they provide you with slippers.
