At 509 meters high, this was the world's tallest building from 2004 to 2010, when the Burj Khalifa in Dubai surpassed it. The tower is reminiscent of a pagoda or a stalk of bamboo and designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes common in Taiwan. Floors one through five are a shopping center and both the indoor (89th floor) and outdoor (91st floor) observation decks offer a 360-degree panoramic view.

During the day the place was packed, so we bought the VIP ticket and skip the line. Glad we did as it saved us about an hour and a half with the wait going up and coming back down. The view from the top is...More

Unfortunately did not have time to visit the top, saw it from ground level, wished I had more time to see the area around such as the Lego area.

Taipei is a must-do for Taiwan first-timers! The fast elevator did not make me feel that I was climbing 80++ floors. We likewise saw the hi-technology feature that protects the structure as well. Taipei 101 also gave breathtaking views of Taipei city. Don't let the...More

Really not too much else to say. It's a big tall building with a very fast lift that provides a great view of Taipei. Nothing too special. A big take away for me was all the shops you had to walk through to make your...More

I’m not a shopping maniac. It’s just another boring shopping mall with international brands. Yes, you can get some local brands and gifts but quite expensive anyway. The observatory was so crowded and expensive. Not worth it. I wouldn’t be back. It’s so crowded with...More

Do not miss Taipei’s tallest building. It is easy to find and is connected to a shopping mall. This is a fun experience. Great city views, interactive maps, outdoor, indoor views on top. A movie also offered when reaching the top. There are nice short...More

Taipei 101 houses your typical luxury shops. Go outside the main entrance at night to get good shots of Taipei 101.

Going to the top of T101 is obviously pretty pricey, and on a day like the one we went (very overcast and cloudy) it can feel not worth it. But it is probably a must-do for the spectacular views.

Went here on a cold rainy day...big mistake. All I saw up in the tower was Taipei covered in fog. I'm sure it would have been nice if it was sunny so be warned.

The best way to get around is to take the bus or the mrt. Try google maps, we swear by it. Even with the language barrier it's spot on and accurate.
