At 509 meters high, this was the world's tallest building from 2004 to 2010, when the Burj Khalifa in Dubai surpassed it. The tower is reminiscent of a pagoda or a stalk of bamboo and designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes common in Taiwan. Floors one through five are a shopping center and both the indoor (89th floor) and outdoor (91st floor) observation decks offer a 360-degree panoramic view.

There should be covered walkways leading from metro exits to the building, given the occasional rain showers

The mall at Taipei 101 has all the high end branded stores. Fairly sized mall. The observation for the skyscraper entrance is on the 5th floor of the mall. Food court and free wifi is available.

It costs NTD 600 to visit the viewing gallery. Not a must-see place to visit though. The merchandise are expensive. One will not want to revisit.

Nice expensive but beautiful mall inside on floors 1 to 5. We didn't go to the top. Ordering tickets online to go to the top is cheaper than buying it at the entrance. However the line was too long for us to buy the tickets so we did not go to the top.

If it were not the tallest in Taipei, it would be a no mention. We've been to many of the tallest structures including the CN Tower and Willis Tower, but this is poor value and possibly a rip off. They make you walk far out of your way to look at overpriced sales items twice at the beginning and end... More

1. English Translation : Had dinner at the Food Court. Everything is written in Chinese at all Stalls except for some Korean Stalls which provide English Translation to their Menu. Please note you are an International Tourist Attraction and will have visitors from all over the world. Hence everything + anything inside 101 must have English Translation for guests to... More

A very upscale mall with a nice view when the weather and smog allows it to be. It's something that as a tourist you HAVE to do. But it's not very exciting.

Taipei 101, no less than 508 m high and designed to resemble a stalk of bamboo. In the basement is a big shopping mall. Until year 2010 this was the highest building in the world, but now is "only" the 5th.
