Recommended for those who love to enjoy a wonderful view of Taipei city view. Cable fee is very cheap, worth to pay. It might be a bit crowded on weekend. It took me about 45 mins to queue so better to visit on weekdays.

The gondola is a nice experience when visiting Taiwan. You can choose either a normal cabin (max of 7 persons) or a crystal cabin (max of 5 persons). If you are in a bit of a rush, just take the normal cabin as the lines...More

Opt for the crystal cabin and get a view of treetops at your feet as the gondola moves. Great fun. Lots of teahouses at the top of the mountain.

had read reviews of the Gondola but did not realise that the trip was so long - its situated near the Taipei Zoo. The trip to the top takes around 25-30 minutes. There are 2 types of Gondolas, one with a transparent floor and the...More

Don't leave this off of your visit to Taipei. A great experience & the "Special Eyes On Maokong" cabins have glass floors, adding to the experience. Couple this visit with a visit to Taipei Zoo. If you intend to get off at different stations, only...More

I had so much fun. Specifically requested for the glass flooring. A bit scared up until we got to the very top. Very good view of the hill side and nature. A bit foggy when we went but that did not damp my excitement to...More

This is the 2nd time that we took the Maokong Gondola. This time, we took the glass bottom for added adventure. I think it was funnier if the staff allowed me and my wife to ride the gondola without other passengers. At the time, there...More

I would assume you have gone up the Taipei 101. Now lets check out another side of Taipei from the Maokong Gondola. Tickets are priced single way. Suggest you take the normal gondola up as the line is much shorter and you do not lose...More

This was a very long gondola ride! I loved it! It was a bit scary though, but still a good experience. We could see everything.

Hello everyone! We wanted to go to Maokong Gondola from Taipei Main Station (not the zoo). What time is the best time to go there as the trip will be the last leg before checking out and how to go from the Main Station? TIA!

To add to the other answers - during the peak times the wait (in line) to get to gondola can be half an hour and more. No need to go in line to buy tickets first if you have enough cash, especially if there is more than one... More

I arrived there at about 9am. do remember to get the MRT card with Maokong Gondola ride. Use that card to take unlimited rides for a day in MRT and on Taipei buses. You can skip the queue at the gondola with that card and... More

Is it possible to get to the Maokong Station without taking the gondola/cable car? Say, by bus or train. Maokong Station I believe is a hill or mountain, please correct me if I'm wrong. Because I tried using Google Maps and all directions say that I must take the gondola to be able to get to Maokong Station.

You can travel by bus or taxi if you wish. However, I would recommend taking the Gondola - the ride is amazing and it is good value. I don't really like heights but it was fine (just avoid the cars with glass floors... More
