Too bad. Museum appears to be (permanently?) closed. Heads-up would have been great, but then again, we didn't do our homework. So fault is on us. No need to visit this construction site ;-)

We went out of our way to have a look around this museum, only to be told when we arrived there that it was closed. There is a sign outside where it used to be and a locked empty building. Save yourself the trouble, there...More

Museum is closed. Nobody knows when it's reopening. The inner gardens are nice to walk around. There are no refreshments in this area.

I have just been, and there are some guard towers left and some of the main wall and 1 cell block left, which you can walk around but I believe the museum has now gone and it's all been renovated into something else. Was gutted...More

Located adjacent to the Romaneenart Park, this was the old Bangkok Remand Prison which was a maximum security prison. It is now closed for renovations with no reopening date. The exhibits are supposedly gruesome so we will be back when it reopens!

The museum is presently closed for some renovations but walking around it you can see the cells where the inmates were kept. No dates for completion was provided by the security guard. Lovely little park next door.

My boys, 11 and 14, have a morbid curiosity and this museum fit the bill. It was a small museum and hot walking around but was informative on how prisoners were treated 100 years ago. Some of the original torture devices were still on display,...More

While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok,
it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn

this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off
their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most
