Just about empty these days. There was never a wait, as previous review, the train runs on a standardised time. Handy for some, but look where you are going, to some directions it would be advised to just take a taxi to avoid the hassle.

I enjoy the rail link however, it is part of my routine now since it opened.

This is an easy way to get to the airport from downtown, if you don't have much luggage. Easy to make the connection from the BTS.

Can be very crowded specially in the evening. If you are unlucky you will have to wait more than an hour before you are able to board the train.

From before covid til now its been a 2 years since i took the airport link. They have safety guidelines like spacing in the trains, masks is a musts and temperature checks. At least they are trying to do something which is good, it's still clean and very safe.

I feel safer on public transportation, and Airport Link is fast, cheap, and connects to MRT and BTS. My usual strategy is to use a 26" or so 4-wheeled spinner style bag with a second bag (stowed overhead during my flight) mounted on the trolley handle (so the weight is off my back). This is very manageable on the Airport Rail Link and subsequent transition to BTS, MRT, and finally sidewalks. Although most up & down transits are via escalator and your spinner will fit on the narrow steps, occasionally (e.g., Asoke) its all stairs - unless you are adroit enough to spot the often hidden elevator and get an attendant to unlock it for you. The other option is to go beast mode and grabe the handle and walk up (or down) the steps. DO NOT Airport Link if you cannot haul your bags in a pinch. The handicap friendly amenities we take for granted in the USA - which also benefit luggage-burdened travelers - are hard to find overseas.

Of course this is Covid, so arrival is SHA+ taxi certified required. Also I overpacked this time so I guess it's back to a 20 year old or so Corolla taxi to get back to the airport for the trip home.

To be honest most airport rail links are a problem if you have just got off a long flight and or have luggage. The express service no longer runs. Do the research ahead of arriving, on which station you want to go to., the map at the airport only shows the stations in isolation of where they actually are. The train is ok but you will likely have to stand. No sign of any toilets at the stations. Hard to get taxis at the stations.

Awful child policy. They charge even for children 2-3 years old, as for adults, and even if the children are sleeping in your arms. BTS and MRT are OK, only Airport Link has this stupid policy.
