The area
Neighbourhood: Chatuchak
Every weekend, thousands of tourists make their way up to this Northern Bangkok suburb to get lost in an enormous maze of shops at the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Home to almost 10,000 vendors, you’ll find everything from vintage sneakers to comic books and Thai handicrafts being sold here. You name it, Chatuchack probably sells it. The market is a great place to pick up souvenirs, but be sure to bargain for a good price. After a day of shopping and strolling around, the lush green lanes of Chatuchak Park are a welcome relief.

As good as or better than any of the other parks in central Bangkok. It connects to Queen Sikrit Park and Wachirabenchathat Park (Rot Fai Park). The total park is large and has several different sections.

Conveniently located right next to the weekend market, this park offers pathways, jogging tracks, exercise machines, comfort rooms, parking space, etc. Best time to go there is around 4.30pm when it is no longer hot & humid 🌞

Well manicured and lovely park. Lots of walking and cycling paths. Huge lake to walk around or sit and have a picnic. Nice bridges for photo opportunities. Lots of shaded benches to rest.
Very convenient to get to via MTR or BTS. It also connects to nearby Queen Sirikit Park

This huge park, much bigger than the much promoted Lumpini Park, is accessible on the BTS (Mo Chit) and MRT (Chatuchak Park). This park has a bike trail (just bikes,) a number of separate paved trails for running and acres of open grassland for sitting and picnicking. Good for birdwatching. It leads into/ connects with Queen Siriket Park which has beautiful gardens and landscaping- and is across the street from JJ Market. A great escape from the concrete jungle. The only downside is the endless plastic bottles and random garbage that plagues every outdoor space in Bangkok. That said: Go. Enjoy!

A great park to have a long walk or run in. It takes you out of the loud city and into a much more peaceful atmosphere. We even got to see a monitor lizard as well!
Highly recommend a visit.

I have visited the famous Chatuchak (JJ) Market in Bangkok, many times. But only recently, I enjoyed my first time exploring the adjacent public park. I feel it is a 'hidden gem', as it is full of natural (I saw a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, plants and trees), as well as man-made (gardens, paths, canals, ponds and sculptures) features, just waiting to be explored. The park is popular with visiting tourists, as well as exercising residents. It is worth stretching one's legs and checking out.

I have no idea. I didn't see any kids do this, neither I did notice any signs that ban roller blades... So I guess it's possible, only not popular there.

The animal zone is right at the other end corner of Cahtuchak Market next to JJ Mall... usually opens on weekends and maybe middle of weekdays...you can even get Tibetan Mastiff there...
