This an essential part of Chiang Mai, now and and in its history. Worth a visit on foot. Beware of tourists who insist on feeding the dreadful pigeons, so much so that you can hard,y walk in some places! Good to walk along the moat...More

Really nothing special here just a place with a whole bunch of pigeons crapping on you. If you happen to stroll by it have a quick peek but otherwise you can miss this.

The tha phae gate is the entrance to the ancient city. Good meeting place if you are meeting someone. Also good place to start and finish the Sunday night Market. The gate it self is huge but no longer in use.
