I have been to many walking street markets in Thailand and other parts of Asia and am somewhat inured to their mediocrity, as they all seem to offer the same collection of tourist trash and pirated knockdown copies. I was therefore pleasantly surprised. Yes, this night market has all of the above. But it also has original artworks, stalls selling... More

Lots of hand made items, clothing, shoes and food and cheaper then night bizarre. Some stunning temples down the side streets of the market. There is a great variety of food and things to buy, and of course interesting sights to take in. But it was just too crowded to enjo

A few unique finds versus the night market. Lesser of the fake stuff. Food choices are not really different from the night markets.

There are a lot of neat vendors with a variety of items for cheap. We purchased a lot of souvenirs for family and friends at great prices. Vendors were willing to negotiate lower prices closer to the end of the night. I would eat on the main road before entering the night market. There are not a lot of options... More

I was staying only just round the corner from the Saturday Night Walking Street and so I arrived as the stall holders were starting to set up. It is wise to come early due to it becoming very busy on dark with both the locals and tourists. There is so much variety from handicrafts, bags, clothing, soaps, shoes and belts,... More

I found both the Saturday and Sunday Night Markets to be unpleasant tourist traps. SO congested, absolutely packed with a a river of people, shuffling along butt to hip. It's hard to even see the merchandise, much less stop and browse table-to-table. I don't like to eat while walking, and the food areas have little seating. There are lots of... More

The street food at the Saturday night market is fantastic, we love street food and we're not disappointed here The rest of the market stalls however are selling the usual items that you see in any market in Thailand and as the market gets very busy it didn't seem worth it to us to fight through the people and also... This market is open from 4pm - 11pm only on Saturdays. Get here early, by 8pm it is packed. It appears to be a place where the locals go, it doesn't have a touristy feel to it. With awesome street foods and a different variety of stuff to purchase than other markets. By the Chiang Mai Gate, on Wualai Road... More

This market is at Wualai Rd, Nr Chaing Mai Gate. It's similar to the Sunday Night Market with a fantastic range of items and food available. I preferred it to the Sunday Market because it's not quite as crowded and of course it's in a different part of town. It also seems more popular with locals which probably says a... More
