My Wife and I had a wonderful experience with Patara. At no time did we feel there was any mistreating of the elephants nor did we ever feel unsafe. We received great tutoring from the handlers on judging the elephants temperament as well as how...More

We loved this so much. A great experience for all children and adults. Everyone adored the elephants. The elephants were so friendly as they would flap their ears and let you feed them. The day was so organized. This is a rescue elephant place, where...More

What a day! Very professional and well run elephant rescue camp experience. Our 7 and 10 year old daughters loved it. About 1 hour of riding time included. No complaints whatsoever.

There is a lot of good thinking about how to interact with animals and the poor conditions of many animal "shows" so my wife and I wanted our girls' first experience with elephants up close to mean more than a 30 minute ride and better...More

Was a bit concerned about the use of animals for tourism. But to be honest I believe that this set up do actually care for the elephants they have all been rescued. The trainers did not use sticks or nails to control them (which we...More

Anywhere is fine. Do not suggest staying in town. We stayed in an Air BnB on the east side - wonderful!

Coming from someone with very bad motion sickness, I would actually recommend taking some non-drowsy dramamine before this ride. It was about an hour and I probably should have sat closer to the front of the van, but... More
