This is a must whilst in Chiang Mai, we took a half day tour, which includes feeding, cleaning and treking with your own assigned elephant, no saddles or sticks, just voice commands. Fantastic afternoon.

This is just one of the most wonderful experiences my wife and I have had. To spend most of day with an elephant is one of the coolest things ever. Spend peaceful time with them. Feed them. Bath them. Ride them. Hose them off after the ride. Give them the left over fruit from your lunch. A wonderful lunch spread... More

Going to an elephant park when in thailand was one of my priorities and I am so happy I did go. It is a little pricy but probably your only chance to be this close to elephants and everything else is so cheap in Thailand (off season especially) that you can save up a little for this amazing experience. After... More

Don't go anywhere else. Come here. They're knowledgeable and friendly and the experience was unforgettable. We started with a meet of one elephant, where I didn't realise we were being assessed as to which elephant we were suited too. Then we get a run down on safety and the history of the parks, then walked a k to feed them,... More

Baffled by some of the negative reviews left on here. Take no notice. Patara have such a lovely bond and relationship with the elephants. They have 65. In the past 40 years the elephant population has declined from 6000 to just 3200. Patara look after and assist elephants who have been mistreated and restore their health and digestion back so... We just went on the "Elephant Owner for a Day" trip at Patara and it was an incredible experience. Most importantly, the elephants are healthy and happy and the staff takes great care of them. The elephants were so friendly and gentle. Thanks to Nui for leading our group on a great day of learning about and taking care of... More

The concept of this place is to be an elephant caretaker for a day. We started by getting to know our elephant, feeding her and then bathing her. Then they provided a beautiful lunch spread. Our day ended with a 45 min ride in the jungle. They give you lots of 1 on 1 time with your elephant. The elephants... More

After reading reviews on Trip Advisor and lots of research on the web we decided that Patara Elephant Farm was the choice for us. This wasn't the cheapest option but it was where we felt the elephants were treated the best. They also offered a half day trip which suited us perfectly. When we first arrived there was an opportunity... More

Highly recommend!! We had a blast and learned so much about the elephants and Patara's preservation efforts. We fed, cleaned, bathed and rode the elephants. Lunch was amazing! The experience even came with a CD full of pictures and video.
