It's a beautiful area with lots of greenery, but not typical Thai style. The shops are not that interesting, but there are very nice coffee shops and restaurants. So if you come here and combine it with lunch or dinner it's worth the 15 min...More

Interesting little compound with artists having their own little space. Cool set up with some nice style, but art was not that impressive to me. Some shops just had some kitschy things. The best was the jeweler with some nice brass and plated handmade things...More

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the vacation rentals towards the back of Baan Kang Wat. During our stay, we experienced some unfortunate medical issues and the hosts, Brook and her husband, went out of their way to take care of us....More

This arts community is a peaceful place to meander the shops and get coffee at the cafe. We didn't buy anything but were tempted by many items. The shops have unique things- not the mass produced stuff you see all over SE Asia. It looks...More

I go to the morning market here nearly every Sunday. Its a great place for baked goods like pastries and croissants along with a variety of shops, market stalls and even a place for foot massage. I highly recommend a visit.

The Bann Kang Wat market is an art & community mall outskirts of Chiang Mai. There are small cafe, Di Old Chiang Mai Cafe 197, where we have nice coffee and cake; we recommend the Mango Cheese Cake.

Rather commercialised place already, loads of Asian tourists there to take pictures. Nice to stroll around but after 40 min or so you have basically seen the place. Beautiful greenery & garden. Many small art galleries etc. We wanted to have lunch there on Sunday...More
