As far a train stations go, this one is quite neat and clean. There are a couple of good places to eat outside around the station. We boarded the sleeper train to Bangkok from here.

We took the overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and I couldn’t sleep a wink! No AC, just a noisy fan right above the bed. The train station is clean enough and the people at the tourist information stand were very helpful
