- Pongyana364Copenhagen, Denmark148 contributionsBEST of the three biggest cabarets in Pattaya.Colosseum cabarets is highly recommended. Seeing many shows in Thailand, this has some of the most energetic dancers with a smiling connection to the audience. Great stage props, lights and video screens. Good music with something for everyone and well made costumes. The only minus is, that the sound system is only above the stage, so when they lip sync, it doesn't seems as if the sound comes from the performers but from speakers above. When the show is finished you can have a mandatory photo with one or more performers of your choice. They are very welcoming and makes sure everyone gets some memorable shots. Price is already set for 100 baht per person, so no surprises or aggressive pushing for your money. We are really happy we saw this cabaret as the last one in Pattaya and left with a wonderful experience.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 February 2024

I feel when they sang Jai Ho , I'm beside the one I'm destined with. I fall harder for him when I watched the show.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 March 2024

Personal favorite of ours was the Chinese Dancer on stilts! High production values with world class lighting too! Highly recommend!Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 April 2024

Everyone who has come to Pattaya has been to either Tiffany or Alcazar, the two most famous transvestite cabaret shows in Thailand.
They have a new contender since last year and it is excellent!
The Coloseum opened last year, and during this year's visit we decided to try it out.
The place is actually in Jomtien, on Thepprasit Road, so a lot more quiet then Pattaya, with way easier traffic.
It is also shiny and new, marble halls and a large reception area, where you can relax in a fine airconditioned waiting area. The stage is large with great props, and the actors wear beautiful costumes and it is nice to hear new music, Chinese, Thai, Western and even Russian.
The seats are great, much better then either Tiffany or Alcazar. If you get the VIP seats, you will sit in the first few rows and get a free drink when you arrive.
The crowd is the usual, large number of Chinese, some Russians (not that many yet) and some Westerners. This is really a new place, so many tourgroups seem not to have discovered it yet.
After the show you can take pictures with the performers, which are definitely not shy to be in pictures.
All in all, a very good show, in a beautiful location.
What is a useful tip: buy the tickets at one of the many travel agents. We bought VIP tickets for 600 baht (less then 15 euro) per person. At the Colosseum itself they sell for a 1000. We sat in the second row so had a great view.

The show is very nice. The ladyboys dance very well, if sometimes their lipsycing isn't that great. They do seem to want to perform well for the audience though. The performances are sort of a celebration of different South East Asian countries. It works well. The theatre is nice and comfortable too.
After the show you can take pictures with the ladyboys, but noone explains how this process works. They are calling you to take photos but everyone is hesitant because we aren't sure if we have to pay, or how much. It is not explained. We saw people take photos, not pay, and then be chased and surrounded by staff until they paid up. But in fairness, if the audience isn't told there is a charge, it's not their fault if they don't immediately get their wallets out. We asked what is the price to take a photo and were told 40 baht, so we took a photo, paid 40, and the ladyboy said the price was 100 baht. Awkward. Also, as the ladyboys are outside to take photos and it is already dark, the photos don't come out well.
All that is required is a sign saying 100 baht charge to take photos and it would solve this issue. A great show finished on a down point because of this. However, do go. The show is great.

Horrendous 1000 bath each for "VIP" (completely normal seats in the front/middle. No extras..) Ticket includes a ridiculous "soft drink", even those you get at an hotel are better.
The show had a lot of people in it and big costumes and props. However, the sound was HIGH (quality was not) and the -not so great playback made it rather agonizing at times. It was basically a mass production show made for busloads of Chinese (probably paying like 100bath each).
Conclusion, if you get the Chinese price (you don`t) it may be worth it if you have plenty of time. Otherwise - go to Nong Nooch or somewhere else you get your moneys worth of joy.

Colosseum is very interesting and modern building. The performance is very nice and well prepared. The only bad thing which I can say is that sometimes it is too obvious that they dont sing because their mouths dont cooperate with the songs. But everything else was beautiful and perfect.
