It's disappointing to see so many negative reviews of this place based on its distance from other tourist attractions - or that there are no snack bars en route. Actually, the lakefront is lined with coffee shops and restaurants if you look around enough. As...More

Completely away from tourists (and a very, very long walk from west lake pagoda - took about an hour) the temple was small and quiet - but nothing special. There are much nicer and more impressive temples in the city. It was at least free...More

This temple is off the beaten path so we were the only tourists in sight. The roads aimmediately around it are full of small vendor shops providing food or offerings for the locals to buy. Little to no English was spoken in the shops.

Phu Tay Ho is one of the famous temples in Hanoi. This temple dedicated to Mother Goddesses and it locates near Lake Tay Ho, hence the name. We like the golden buffalo in the courtyard as soon as you enter the gate. Street peelers sale...More

Only saw locals here. Streets are lined with food vendors and fortune tellers, no tourist tchotchke being hawked. Packed with locals. Very worthwhile visit. On Hoy Tay (West) Lake. Bit out of the way, but a breeze to get to on motorbike. Here's the GPS...More

This interesting temple located on the shores of West lake, is dedicated to the Mother Goddesses. West lake has several temples located by the lake but this one seems to be very popular. What is also interesting is the short walk from the road towards...More
