Friday night they block traffic around the lake to allow the community to do their thing. You'll be surprised at the goings on that include a variety of street musicians, community involvement in a variety games and the ubiquitous salesperson.

As a I write in the tittle there is not too much to see, it is a large see near the center of Hanoi. If You have some free-time take a long walk around the lake.

Not a must see but the lake and view make a nice area to stroll with good places to stop for a refreshment.

I was surprised to find this huge lake in the midst of Hanoi. It is surrounded by hotels. Also the Tran Quoc Pagoda was very impressive.

Several restaurants and even a shopping mall in close proximity to where we stayed. Nice area to take a stroll, stop in for a brewski, or whatever.

We went around the whole lake because we were interested in the Vietnamese real estate market but I wouldn't do this as a tourist and there is little to see here.

beautiful part of town although seeing all the dead fish by the side of the lake wasn't a pretty sight. Loads of interesting things to do and see around here if you ever venture out of the Old Quarters. The thought of people fishing out...More

We stayed at the Intercontinental West Lakes. Very nice location. Only about £3 taxi ride to the Old Quarter.

For me, I prefer to rent a bike or take a cyclo(about 5 USD/ hour) to go around the lake. This season, the weather is good for walking as well. There is a nice flower market near by West Lake I've always loved to visit... More
