Windy afternoon to chill and stroll along the lake for a lazy evening. The view is good for photography and people watching.

One of the highlights of Hanoi was a bike trip round the lake. There are numerous good coffee shops there and a large flower market. You'll need to take a small detour to get to this. Get a map on your phone to guide you.

It was a perfect way to see the lake and the area around Westlake. Later I was able to walk around having used the electric car as a good introduction to area.

I walked here from my hotel and walked partially around the lake one evening. Not really much to see. The other side of the lake has a memorial to Sen. John McCain, which I saw earlier in the day and which is fairly interesting.

You can walk around the lake. Depending on your speed, it takes anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours. You can see much of Hanoi's life from this walk. It range from quiet alley to upper busy highway, from 5* hotel to garbage dump. You...More

For me, I prefer to rent a bike or take a cyclo(about 5 USD/ hour) to go around the lake. This season, the weather is good for walking as well. There is a nice flower market near by West Lake I've always loved to visit... More
