Huge waste of time. We left after 20 minutes. The live music was the ONLY good thing about this show. Not worth it really.

Hard to describe. Very traditional puppet theatre with a twist. Live orchestra. Perhaps a touch too long but certainly a worthwhile entertainment.

We were initially unsure about this because it is completely in Vietnamese. However that didn’t impact understanding it at all as we were easily able to follow the story. I‎t was really cool to see this traditional show works with the puppets in the water...More

Attended while visiting the ethnicity museum. Interesting art form and really a good play story to follow. Narrated in English and definitely kid friendly. After the show they provide an exhibit for hands on with the puppets. Kids had a great time. Only about 45min...More

This is a unique experience - and at about 50 minutes long something just about everyone can enjoy (even if you are not a big puppet fan). Key thing is to get a seat near the front as seats are not overly banked and so...More

It was a little quirky but all in all I’m glad I saw it. It’s not expensive and it’s not too long to sit thru . The kids enjoyed it!

Different and very traditional. It is something you have to see once in your life. It was fun and cute with an Asian humour very caracteristic, quite childish but cute and very well executed. Singers and musicians were also very good.

The water puppet show was quaint and charming. It was a little bit like watching Team America. The music was excellent. But puppetry isn’t for us. It was impressive but we would rather check out other sights in Hanoi. If you have children then this...More

I am glad I took the time out for this. The entire show was very traditional....from the dress and instruments of the musicians to the history of this form of entertainment for royalty dating back to the 1300.... or so. It was time well spent.

I went for the 415pm show, there were seats available and it seems that is the off peak timing for the theatre.

Hi, yes that's true, though it didn't seem to stop most of the audience. I think if you elect to pay the small fee (50,000vnd for still, more for video) you get preferential seating on front row.
