Enjoyed a fantastic 16day cycling and touring adventure from Hanoi to Dalat/HCMC with Vietnam Backroads. (10days cycling)
Our guide Mr Dat was excellent - friendly, professional, and calm and we really appreciated the way in which the tour was customized along the way, with cycling length and timeframes adapted to suit. (most days circa 60 - 70km) Equally everything appeared to run to run very smoothly and to plan which was very impressive.
The mix of terrain, scenery, sights, and food! was awesome and gave us a great snap shot of this incredible country.
A big thank you to Vietnam Backroads for a wonderful experience (first international trip post pandemic and one to remember!)

We did the Tam Hiep/Ben Tre 2 day cycling trip in November.
We cycled about 75km over the two days on flat terrain.
Loved that we were cycling on backroads (mix of concrete, gravel and tarmac surfaces) as it felt like we were getting a different insight into Vietnam.
Our guide Phuc and driver Viet were both excellent. They had water and delicious dragon fruit on hand whenever we needed it.
The food on the trip was the best we had during our two weeks in Vietnam. We enjoyed the peaceful overnight rest and dinner at Ut Trinh Ben Tre homestay (rooms have fans, air conditioning and mosquito nets) which is right on the banks of the Mekong River.
For us, it was very hot for cycling, especially the first day, so if you're fair skinned, consider a long sleeve top and re-apply the sun cream regularly.
The bikes were super (Trek and Giant) and had good suspension (but if you have a bony bottom, best to wear cycling shorts or get a saddle cover).

We did the 3-day Mekong delta cycling tour with our family (2 adults, 2 boys of 11 and 12 years old). Our guide was Dat. We had a super trip. Cycling was great, bikes excellent and Dat was the best guide we had in Vietnam. I highly recommend the 3-day cycling trip in the Mekong Delta by Vietnam Backroads/Vietnam cycling tours!!

We were very happy to cycle 3 days with Phuc (meaning happiness!!!) because he gave us a unique impression of everyday life in the Mekong delta by not only cycling in the backyards with us but also visiting local families and pagodas. This way we had a very scenic ride and saw that beyond the main roads this area is full of beauty and surprises.
The restaurants and hotels were all well chosen and the dinner in Cui Long was the best food we got during our whole 14 days trip.

We did a one-day bike trip from HCMC. Everything was according to the itinerary: pick ups on time, good bikes and helmets for all participants, nice route with hardly any traffic. Perfect. We ended the ride at Alluvia chocolate factory, where we had a very good and professional tour of the factory including the chance to try chocolate making and wrapping yourself. It was a wonderful day.

We (a group of four, plus our guide and driver) spent four days cycling the Mekong Delta with our excellent guide, Tha Ra. We took routes that he had developed himself, using his extensive local knowledge of the area. We spent a lot of time cycling through different farming communities, visiting farms and tasting the excellent local fruit and roadside snacks. We also spent lots of time on ferries, which added great variety to the trip! We would never have been able to complete a trip like this without Tha's guidance. We were also very happy to have the support vehicle traveling with us when one of our company got sick -- he was able to take it easy for a day or two to recover, but still meet up with us throughout the day. Also, Tha did a great job accommodating the vegan member of our group. The bikes were in excellent shape and very comfortable for the variety of roads that we traveled on.
I am still dreaming about fresh pressed sugar cane juice with kumquats!
I can't wait to go back to visit Cambodia!

My husband and I took the day trip bike tour from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta. Our guide, Cong, was wonderful - very friendly and informative about the area. The riding was fun and we saw temples, a factory where rice and coconut are transformed into different food products, a floating market and a lot of beautiful scenery. We stopped for fresh fruit as a snack and then had a delicious lunch at a lovely restaurant overlooking a lake in Ca Be. I would heartily recommend this trip to anyone who likes to bicycle ride and wants to see a less touristy view of the Mekong Delta region.

My husband and I have just completed the most amazing 4 day cycling tour. As hypocritical as it may sound, we hate doing the usual tourist stuff and love just getting in with the local life and culture. (Having said the our tour did include some tourist stuff such as the floating market and lunch at an ancient house-the location of the French love story L’amant, which was one of our highlights of the tour). This tour hit this with perfection. Mr Van gave us the friendliest and most helpful welcome (only the start of what we were about to experience). The hotels that he booked for us where all excellent. We booked one day and left the next and (despite bing within TET celebration) we didn’t miss a beat. Everything ran to perfection. Tha was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. Not a question he couldn’t answer and was as keen to learn about us as we were about him and his countries (I say countries as we cycled in Vietnam and he is from Cambodia). Mr Lao (our van driver) was pleasant and reliable. Always waiting at the end of our rides to transfer us to our next cycle point and setting up our bikes on arrival ensuring we had water. We cycled 2-3 hours each morning and afternoon with regular refreshment stops where Tha suggested local snacks for us to try. He offered us choices of local specialities for our lunch stops and took us through a range of vistas and teraines with lots of opportunities to stop for photos or join in with local activities (helping the locals with their farming, joining in a favourite pass time of karaok-you will hear this regularly on your ride, playing football with local children or a quick cuppa with the insense stick maker, an offer we received at least once a day). Some terrains more challenging than others but all within our capabilities (we are hobby cyclists and by no means professional). The villagers are so welcoming. Always shouting “hello” and “welcome.” Even the oncoming mopeds (which you don’t see too many of) wave or high 5 you. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. A sure way to experience local life.

I can highly recommend this company. Very professional from the moment we booked, always answering our questions promptly. We had a brilliant guide Tha who was such fun and very professional. We did a 7 day cycle tour around the Mekong delta which took us as far as the coast and also the Cambodian border. Each day was different from the last and took us through beautiful vegetation and scenery. I really feel we got a good insight in to the real Vietnam. The hotels we stayed in ranged from basic to luxury, depending on the area we were in. Plenty of opportunities to try the food and local snacks. Cycling ranges from 2 hours tob6 hours a day, depending on itinerary. A well organised trip.

Amazing trip surpassed expectations.
Bikes good quality and well maintained- we even travelled with a bike mechanic, and bikes were cleaned and serviced daily.
Our guide was Phuc (happiness in English ) he was excellent, very knowledgeable and good fun- and lived up to his name.
Lunch was provided every day and always tasty the best was the authentic Vietnamese.
Day 1 small van trip and 25km cycle to Chu Chi tunnels, cycle through rubber plantations and stopped at rice paper making industry.
Day 2 we started cycling the Mekong Delta, another 45mins In van then started cycling, through rice fields, dragon fruit plantations and magic mushrooms !
Dinner was at the homestead - which was lovely with a swimming pool and air conditioning in room.
Day 3 delivered some different scenery and again our guide was great taking lots of photos of our whole family. Our hotel in Can Tho was smart and the city very busy, it was good to have the evening meal booked. Lovely restaurant - but again we all preferred the traditional non- touristy cafes !
The next morning we went round the floating market - very interesting.
Day 4, great cycling we were all glad of our padded cycle shorts ! This is the night in Long xuyen where our best meal was - great food, and lovely eating with happiness(our guide).

Please quote a complete bike tour from two adults from Sai Gon to wherever we will take a boat to Phu Quoc island. Please include lodging, meals, bike rental and an English speaking guide. Also, please include the cost of a boat to Phu Quoc which we will pay separately from the tour.
