Great place to get a feel for the history and culture related to the emergence of HCMC. We started our stay visiting this museum, which gave us a better appreciation of the people and the city.

Interesting read especially about the war and seeing Saigon life in the past. Love the architecture, building is quiet run down but still very beautiful. For only 15k VND which is less than $1USD, this is a pretty good place to visit for an hour or so. If you happen to be offered fresh coconut juice by coconut sellers outside... More

Wonderful to wander in the rather well kept small garden and the exhibition rooms. All information of all exhibitions are in English and Vietnamese, thus making it very accessible for foreigners. Entrance ticket is only a few dollars.

It is a nice building which looks tired both inside and outside. The exhibition has potential but it needs to be reorganized, properly displayed and described. As it is now it is a sad show of potentially interesting material. On the outside there are many tanks, fighter jets, guns also on sad state of disrepair.

A lot of history and quite well presented in a lovely but tired old building. The displays are very good and the artefacts are amazing. I am glad I visited this old building with so much history.

It's sad to see such an opportunity to show off some of the Vietnamese history and stories being so poorly displayed and presented in such a disjointed fashion. Great old building, large enough rooms and areas - but what was used was just a bit of a shambles. One large room dedicated to trade (?) with graphs of investments, another... More

Go for the building and the French colonial ambiance. The rooms are each rather disjointed and I was hoping for a view of the revolutionary process from 1945 to 1975. Coverage was patchy and the story fragmented. Lots of artefacts but no story.

We visited this as part of an onshore tour organised by Royal Carribean cruise ship, unfortunately they only allowed about half an hour at this stop, so the museum couldn't be appreciated in full. With more time I am sure it would have been a real historical eye opener.

This museum has a lot of potentials and I'm sad to say that it fails to reach this potential. The building is very impressive (but has seen better days) but the inside is rather empty. Indeed, despite all the available space, the exhibitions are small and not set up in an engaging way. It's mostly a succession of photos (some... More
