This is the focal point of the Citadel. It was a focal point of all the fighting in the Tet offensive, changing hands many times. Really should just be included in any review of the Citadel itself

This tower that hoists the Vietnamese flag can be seen from miles around. From there it really shows its significance, but in reality it is the adjacent Imperial Citadel with the Forbidden Purple City that steals the show. OK, the flag tower has initial prominence...More

In the complex of royal buildings Flag tower of Hue is a massive monument where Vietnamese national flag is on top. From this tower we probably can have a sweeping view of the last capital Hue.

the flag tower stands proud with the big flag hoisted and can be seen from afar. at night, it is lit with different colours.

Flag towers had historic value in old times to tell the public about special events inside or to indicate if the ruler was present, but today it is just another place to hand the communist flag. Part of the huge and interesting site, however.

walk to and the sights of the imperial city and citadel are so amazing. I walked for hours yesterday with my camera. Just an amazing place.
