    Interesting
We saw fish with shapes and colours we have never seen before and in that respect it was very interesting and having descriptions in English gave us the information we wanted. However some tanks seemed small as other people have commented upon and in one a crab was on its back and was distressed trying to turn over but there was nobody about to tell. The room which was used to explain various fishing methods was closed and full of junk so that is unlikely to open again. Cheap to get in at 40000 vdn and filled the time on a dreary afternoon.

    Worth the trip!
I took my family here despite the mixed reviews. I'm glad I did. I think the issue is that people are projecting first world expectations for an aquarium experience and leave disappointed. Of course there can be no comparison given the much more limited resources of this museum. Notwithstanding, I think they did a pretty good job given what they have to work with. We saw really cool and interesting marine life that we've never seen in any other museum. The cost of admission is peanuts (not literally). I felt our kids learned a good deal. And we killed a couple hours there.

    Surprisingly good and well-presented
Surprisingly good and well-presented collection and aquaria for the most part, with an interesting array of live and preserved specimens. Well worth the entrance fee. Signage can be hit-and-miss, particularly in English but the site is still being actively developed. Yes, the crocodile enclosures are very small but crocodiles are not renowned for their activity. The turtles seemed like possible rescues, some with damaged flippers. They and the sharks seemed to have plenty of room, with cleaning fish even included in their pool.

DO NOT GO HERE !!! This is a prison for fish and reptiles. The enclosures are not taken care off! There is TRASH in some of the enclosures and they are way too SMALL. The fish do not swim and sit on the ground! You wouldn’t know if they are dead or alive. The crocodiles and big shark are not able to move on their enclosures. Don’t let you fool yourself by the scientific name of the place. Even the museum part is not worth it at all and fairly cheap made. Do NOT support this place they need to be shut down !!!!

A decent enough place to visit and spend some time. Very cheap price of admission, and some decent displays and aquariums to view, but definetly not on par with larger museums and aquariums available in other countries.

From other reviews we were expecting a small and third rate museum. We were very pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of this place.
There is a very extensive aquarium with large variety of sea life.. Keep following the path past what may look like the end of the corridor where there is a large round tank .. It leads to another building which is fairly new
The turtles at the front had a decent enough enclosure with water though may have had trouble getting to their beach.

After reading such good reviews we thought this would be an amazing place to visit. We were shocked by how small and shallow the enclosures were, especially for the crocodiles, sea turtles and the sharks, which had an enclosure that wasn't even the size of an average swimming pool! There were about 9 sharks in such a small area, it seems totally cruel and made us feel terrible for the animals. We were all shocked by how dirty the enclosures were and we even spotted some dead fish in one! The enclosures are simply not big enough for such big or numerous animals. This place definitely seems cruel to animals. We couldn't believe that this was meant to be a place of science and research when the animals looked to be treated so badly. There were a few interesting bits, but it was mostly preserved dead animals. What was particularly perplexing was that there was two stuffed seals in a glass box, and if you read the plaque next to it is says they died of unknown causes whilst they were in the care of the national oceanographic museum. How can a scientific institution specialising in marine life, not know the cause of death??? Also, if you go back to reviews a few years ago it says there were two seals kept in a disgustingly small bath-sized enclosure... Seems like the cause of death isn't such a mystery after all! Avoid this and see the animals elsewhere, preferably somewhere humane!

Animals all looked very depressed and sad. Small tanks for a large amount of big animals. Quite a sad visit!

The staff really put lots of efforts into this place. It is pretty amazing seeing how they build all the aquarium and display fish and samples.

However, kids must be observed by adults because the front pool where they have lots of shark does not have barrier to block the kids from falling into the pool.

Overall this is a must visit place in Nha Trang.

We spent slowly all the afternoon in the institute. All the inside aquariums at the view level ,you have the felling you are inside water with them! Lions’fish, Clowns’fish, sea horses, sea snake, it’s just like a rainbow of colors ! The soft Coral are really spectacular the beauty of the under water life in front yours eyes. I take more than 100 photos who already amaze my family in Canada!
