This was a really interesting little temple with a large Buddha up the top of the hill behind the temple. There were quite a lot of stairs to get all the way up to the Buddha. There were brilliant dragons on the main stairs at the entry to the temple. It was undergoing some refurbishment works whilst we were visiting.

Nha Trang was a cruise ship stop and completely unknown to us. We took a pedicab tour which included this and we were pleasantly surprised. The pagoda, the giant Buddha, the reclining Buddha and the views were very impressive.

In Vietnam, "pagoda" is where Buddhists go to perform their Buddhist chants and ceremonies, and is strictly Buddhism. "Temple" on the other hand are places where famous Vietnamese kings, war heroes (generals) and mythical gods are honored and worshiped. At this pagoda, you have the front ceremonial hall after passing through the gate where you could go in and take... More

Lots of scams, be very careful! We arrived at the pagoda at around 11.30am to find it closed and we were told it would reopen at 2pm. Some of the buildings were still open so we looked around them. While there we were lead away from a building inside the pagoda grounds by a man claiming we were not allowed... More

Enjoyed the quick taxi ride from our hotel to a beautiful white marble Buddha statue Pagoda! Very serene despite the busyness!

Good for half day trip in Nha Trang. Possible to combine with Po Nagar. Climb up to se the Buddha. Dont forget - cover your knees and shoulders.
