An Interesting Walk around the Walls which extend right upto Shirvanshah Palace. This is rightly a World Heritage Site as it is very well preserved considering its condition over so many centuries. You can notice alot of cafes and small restaurants along the way. This is a must-do in Baku and is part of almost all city Tours. If you have... More

The city walls are in immaculate condition and you can stroll along them all the way from the gates right up to the Palace of the Shirvanshahs. Beautiful yellow sandstone with lots of nice cafes and craft shops all along.

A World Heritage site, the Baku Old City, is an amazingly well-preserved intact walled city that is now embedded in modern Baku. Amazing that it was left intact. Other cities, e.g., Vienna, torn down the old city walls as the city mdernized

This is the beginning of the main attraction of the city of Baku - The old city. It is located on the west side of the city.

I have walked around the old city many times and mind it very relaxing. None of the businesses there selling local goods are pushy at all. You can walk past them and they do not hassle you to buy something which is really good. Lots of lovely cafes to stop and drink or eat.

Altough the içəri şəhər has been renovated it remains as a reminder of old Baku. The renovation is perfect , it has a very clean charm. A very nice place for a morning or an evening stroll but the truth is that old Baku was by no means so pleasantly charming and clean. Nevertheless it gives you an insight and... More

Thanks to our tour guide for being there to point out the important buildings and their significance. Almost everything that was historically inportant was in the confines of the city walls. This is a "must see" for tourists.

This old town has old walls that most of it is available and can be visited. Check it on the map in advance but you can find maiden tower there. Old city... More
