I don't know how a person had such a passion for collecting and saving most wonderful trees and plants in Dhaka city more than 100 years ago. Once you enter the garden you would find the oldest "Eden Project" in Dhaka city. How the Amazon Lily was collected, grown and still thriving is unknown to me (personally I am interested... More

A tiny small place with huge gathering. You can take a look the full park within 5-10 mins. You have noticed that a number of couple doing kiss each other in front of you. This is the most embarrassing thing you would face. So be careful if you have a plan to visit with tour family member.

A small piece of history in one the bustling area of Old Dhaka. A garden/place for nature lover, nature photography, but not much. The place is too small to spend an hour inside. Not to mention the young couples come here to spend some alone time. You can mostly find them as visitor and they can be found hiding under/behind... More

-The area isn't that much big and also the trees are planted too close to each other. -Be prepared to get numerous mosquito bites. -Seems that nowadays it is mainly a place for young lovers & one will be bewildered by seeing their love-making scenes! They are even not ashamed of their deeds & they do these like nobody seems... More

Baldha Gardens comprises of 2 parts. 1) Psyche: it houses the lily pond, orchid house, cactii house, and other foliage plants and fruit trees. 2) Cybile: it houses a large conservatory of ferns and orchids and foliage plants, a cactii house, camellia shrubs and the beautiful Amherstia tree. It must have been a well maintained, beautiful place in the older... More

Peaceful and interesting spot. Loved the bats. In the day they move very little and even a phone camera can get a great shot. Also quite the place for young couples who want privacy (for chatting, you can still bring the family) One pair insisted on a small PDA by us so they could get a picture (just a cuddle... More

A place for nature lovers with rare collection of plants and trees. There are orchids, rare cacti. I also saw century flower tree (these trees have flowers that bloom once every hundred years) and amazon lilies in their pond- both for the first time.

The gardens are in two enclosed spaces on either side of the road. The main Baldha Gardens includes a large pond and numerous greenhouses. The overall impression is of a very run-down place which does not receive the kind of care it needs and deserves. Although there were supposedly many different plant species, they were not well labeled. The garden... More
