Just visited today took about 45-60 mins to walk round. It's very interesting but very run down which is a shame. Please don't let the look of the outside put you off, it's only 10,000 each to get in plus 10,000 if you want to...More

The Lao National Museum deserves more respect. Currently, the building is in a horrible condition, just like a dilapidated house. The museum is located in a French colonial building but it is not well maintained at all. For a small fee of USD 1.20 (Kip...More

Most of the museums around the world are boring. This is a good place to kill time if you have nothing to do and want to avoid the heat outside. Better to go with a guide for more knowledge and interesting information.

It is a national museum and one of the worse maintenance quality of national museum. The collection actually is pretty interesting, from the pre historic era to independence era of Laos PDR. It's a sad to see this museum condition.

We enjoyed our visit to the museum. Although it is dated, it was kept immaculate. Friendly staff, very interesting and only £1 entry would recommend a visit.

If you have time to kill in Vientiane and staying around the centre of town, then this place would be good for you. The museum tries to cover a broad span of history from prehistoric times to end of Vietnam war. I was hoping to...More

This museum could be really good. There are hundreds of artefacts, hundreds of photos, and so much information. But it's not really good. It's really rubbish. Very little context is given for any of the exhibits, so it's hard to grasp the significance of anything....More

Not an ideal place but set in a nice building, lots of basic artefacts and pictures with a huge disliking on America! I got around the 2 floors in 30 minutes.
