This place certainly is rustic. Maybe a bit too much so. When you arrive, you're given sarongs to change into, and I'm not quite sure how clean they are. The same can be said for... read more

We headed down for the group meditation at 4 on a Saturday afternoon and I'm so glad that we did!! I recommend arriving a little early as it gives you opportunities to ask questions of the monks and meet the rest of the group. Its very quiet and non- touristy. In a great spot. Not sure I really want to share this, as it is so quiet and serene that I would hate crowds to descend. However, if you would like an authentic experience of meditation, guided by a Buddhist monk, this is for you. The temple sits in the middle of Vientiane, in wooded surroundings that help you chill out as soon as... More

We went today. Had a wonderful experience there in 2007. Noticing it in the 2014 lonely planet we went again. Upon our surprise got informed that it was closed down. Very disappointed :((

This place certainly is rustic. Maybe a bit too much so. When you arrive, you're given sarongs to change into, and I'm not quite sure how clean they are. The same can be said for everything else. Asides from the apparent lack of cleanliness, I found the herbal sauna quite nice and relaxing. you'll sweat buckets. The massage was ok.... More

The herbal sauna is certainly a decent and relaxing experience coupled with the atmosphere, if not a bit too cramped. However, set in the middle of the forest, the massage place is a heaven for mosquitoes and the proprietors do not seem to care too much about installing mosquito coils or taking other preventive measures in any way. In other... More
