The main attraction is the very impressive standing huge statute. The rest of the complex is very similar to other Tibetan monasteries. According to our guide, this statute is a replacement for the former which was melted down to make bullets for the Soviet soldiers...More

Well worth taking the time, and small admission fee, to take a look. You have to pay an extra fee to use your camera.

I was very impressed to see not just the statue but the enitre complex. The statue itself is enormous and highly detailed on all sides. The interior of the building is colorful with a detailed wooden ceiling. Family shrines surround the statue.

Wonderfully atmospheric working temple with impressively huge internal standing Buddha. You'll be craning your neck to take it all in. There's a charge for internal photography.

Not sure how anyone can NOT stop here if you are visiting. There is so much history here and one of the few Buddhist temples left. Very impressive. This temple was spared and I’m happy for Mongolia it was. Just feeling the energy of this...More

Like so many places in UB, this is another tourist trap. There are pickpockets and they will try and take your wallet so hold onto it. When you notice them, they will cower and stare at the walls but it’s ridiculous. It just becomes so...More
