Aside from the amazing views of the town from the hill is the Pontic tomb - why people come to Amasya - to see the unique Pontic tombs carved on the edge of the rock mountains. Around year 183 BC Amasya was inhabited by Hellenistic people and became the capital of the kingdom of Pontus from 333 - 26 BC.... More
