Since vising and purchasing two tiles direct from the stores in person 18 months ago, I've been reading more about Iznik produced art both today and back in the height of the Ottoman rulers'. As it was my sisters 60 birthday I wanted to buy her something special. So I looked at the Iznik Classics web site online, and other... More

I visited Istanbul earlier this year and it just so happened that my hotel featured a copy of Time Out for Istanbul in the lobby. In it, they gave a review of "best of the Grand Bazaar" and Iznik works was listed as a must see. I was keen on buying a serving plate but didn't know what I wanted... More

I found this shop in the Lonely Planet guide book so thought I'd have a look. Beautiful collection of tiles and ceramics. There is a good range of prices, which was just as well, as my budget was not huge. Bought three small tiles. There were some gorgeous huge pictures made from tiles which were rather expensive, but no doubt... More

I was so inspired by the high quality beautiful ceramics that were in the showroom that I visited 3 times as I could not make up my mind. All the staff were delightful and not in the least pushy, were really knowledgeable about all the work especially the owner Tahir. I chose three items one of which I absolutely loved... More

I bought some lovely tiles here today. After wondering/getting lost in the grand bazaar I retreated to the arasta bazaar. The ceramics in this shop really appear to be much better quality than the majority of items to be found in the grand bazaar. The majority are hand made and it is easy to see a difference compared to those... More

I stumbled on one of the Iznic Classic stores at the very end of the Arasta Bazar, on Utangac Sokak. I'd already been impressed by the range ceramics in general available in Istanbul. On my first visit to the store I learnt about the process and artistry involved in making them. I had also learned about the Iznic style following... More

We went to the main store which is just steps from the Arasta bazaar. One building houses mainstream pieces but the other building houses authentic Quartz Iznik pieces. They even have some by a well known artist that's been on display in the Louvre. The prices are fixed but they'll negotiate if you're interested in multiple pieces. If you want... More

I fell in love with Iznik-style tiles and artwork after seeing the collection at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City several years ago. In planning my trip to Istanbul, I knew that I wanted to purchase high-quality Iznik-style items, and I saw the reviews for Iznik Classics here on Trip Advisor. I was very fortunate that their main gallery... More

This is a wonderful place to shop for classically designed ceramics. The customer service is superb and there is a huge collection. There is little to no pressure and five floors of wonderful choices.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
