Ayasofya is a truly remarkable piece of history. The architecture speaks volumes about not just the history of the structure, but also that of İstanbul. The monumentality of the structure was truly overwhelming and the view from the gallery looking down was a highlight. Mosaics...More

What to say of a place as Hagia Sophia? It was an Orthodox Church, a Mosque, and finally a Museum! What is great the museum permits us to see the best of the art of both religions, the magnificent Arabic calligraphy and the Iconic Mosaic...More

This is a mosk that was converted after the Byzantine Empire fell. There are many tells of the convertion but hidden as to no offen allah. However, the architecture is fantanstic and this should not be missed.

Truly an amazing place. Well worth a visit. An absolutely tremendous building dating from around 500AD, starting as Byzantine Christian ending up as imperial Moslem under the Ottoman empire. Highly recommended.

A lovely monument with lots of history. Unfortunately it was undergoing renovations and couldn't see the entire ceiling. Obstructed views. Would recommend it still though.

Still undergoing restoration, so there is some scaffolding in the way, but it's a marvelous place, at one time the center of all Christianity. As restoration continues, even more of the church's glories will be brought to light. Well wort your time.

Find a guide at the door. He will have tickets and make you go thru a VIP line. On top of it it is highly recommended to hire a guide to explain you the history behind the visit. Money well spent.
