Istanbul's Tunnel is a passenger underground from Karaköy to Tünel Square in the Beyoglu district. It is the fastest way to move and can be highly recommended to use.

This is one of the oldest underground transportation means in the world, but has been renovated/restored recently... so it seems pretty modern. When the New York Subway - or Paris Metropolitan - were hardly even an ideas, this little Tünel was fully functional (steam powered...More

This is impressive and well built and connects the bottom portion of Karakoy to the higher portion past Galata. Its just as easy to walk up the hill but some prefer the tunnel especially in hot weather

Worth saving your legs if you're going to have a long day. This transportation is very easy to take and well worth it. Get an Istanbulkart and load it with lira to use on the trams/etc.

Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal
Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night
and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights,
shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of
people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive
Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of
the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned
restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening
