So many famous places to see it sets your head a spinning- be prepared for crowds and being in a small space - this church is more modern so less issues

This was our Arab Christian guide's parish so she showed it to us lovingly and with attention to the detail. The Church of St. Catherine is naturally overshadowed by the importance of the Basilica of the Nativity but it is an interesting temple by itself. The outdoor section includes the cloister and courtyard. At the time of our visit in... More

I was able to get a ticket to the Midnight Mass at Christmas 2014. Tickets need to be obtained well in advance, and one needs to get to the church a couple of hours early. The Nativity Church is next door but cannot accommodate the large crowd of Christmas Eve. After the crowding, and some pushing and shoving to get... More

A Church located adjacent to the Church of Nativity. Managed to go in for a very brief glimpse before being kicked out at 5pm. Apparently this Church is famous for holding Mass on Christmas Eve. Aside from this, looked like an average Church with rows of pews stretched towards the altar.

This is a nice Church tied to the Church of the nativity. Other than the history of the church there was nothing special about the church.

We visited the church of st Catherine during the evening, it was a nice time to visit with not many people in the church. It was enlightening and peaceful visit.

St Catherine's is a beautiful Church which is attached to the Church of the Nativity. The entry is free if you're approaching from the latter one. It is super quiet and the nearby cloisters are an excellent place to reflect. The church has a number of grottoes, and we were fortunate to attend a mass in St Jerome's Chapel, it... More

The mass in the chapel of St Jerome was a real highlight, way down in the crypt. The next day I was appalled beyond belief: the refusal of entry to the people from India, because it was a "Private" mass, does not form any part of my Catholic Christianity, shame on the Tour guide of the Portuguese party, she was...
