The Hay-Bar on the Carmel is devoted to the raising of endangered and extinct animals of the region and possible re-introduction to the wild. The park maintains breeding cells of Persian fallow deer (Dama dama mesopotamica), roe deer (capreolus capreolus), as well as various types of vultures and other raptors, which are also part of the re-introduction and re-acclimatization program.

The area where Elijah challenged the worshippers of Baal. Really interesting and beautiful. We only visited this section of Mount Carmel but I could see that it would be fab for outdoorsy people too.

Very big park, the closest to 'forest' there is in Israel. Great views of the Mediterranean sea. Excellent for day hikes, full of MTB single tracks. Lots of uphills, naturally :)

If you want a relaxing break, especially with children, the walks and cycling in this area are excvellent. Sadly, some of the forest was damaged last year by deliberately set fires, but the greenery is returning. Go and enjoy!

Enjoyed hiking up an easy path - great views at the top. Along the way saw wild tulips, poppies, anemones, cyclamen, and others. Interesting to learn of JNF efforts to allow natural foliage to repopulate following pine tree fires of a few years ago.

Beautiful national park with a lot of bike and pedestrians routes, with astonish view to the Mediterranean. The best time to visit is January-March, when anemones, irises and other beauty is on blossom. There are a very interesting geology and biology to see

You can take Little Switzerland hike starting at parking lot (GPS coordinates 32.7454305 35.0246551) Try to find "Little Switzerland – Kelach & Galim streams" in Google. Web site "Tiuli" has English description and maps.
