Lovely park with walking trails and the remains of an ancient fortress. Many tables for picnic and lawn for rest and relax. Admission is paid and highly recommended with advance reservation. It is best to visit in late autumn when there is a fall and a park changes colors.

PROS
• Many picnic tables
• Some grass to put down a blanket
• A trickling stream- “Aqua Bella”
• A Crusader building
• Directly next to main Highway #1

CONS
• Payment of 22 shekels per adult
• Nothing else to do there
• “Aqua Bella” is murky and miss- filled

MY EXPERIENCE
“I visited this place” and only found the Crusader building to be of interest, with the slanted windows designed to slow maximal light to enter.

This is a small park situated along a quiet stream with lots of picnic tables sitting under shady trees. It seems to be a popular spot for families. We visited to see the ruins of a Crusader fortified farm called Acqua Bella that dates from 1160. The front wall standing 12m high is pretty impressive. There are more rooms and ruins to explore inside although the site itself is not large. Since the ruin is located within the national park, you have to pay the full entrance fee of 22 shekels per person to see it. It’s a 15 minute walk along the stream to reach the ruin. The ruin was empty when we were there on a weekday afternoon so we had the whole place to ourselves. There’s lots of parking and toilets too.

A beautiful place, especially in March when the water is flowing and there are a lot of flowers. Great place for a picknic with kids.

It was our first camping experience with kids. The place is very organized (they even cleaned the bathrooms in the middle of the night). The other campers were very nice and quite . The only disadvantage is the close highway which you can hear the cars during the night.

This small park has streams, a natural pool, plenty of shade and picnic areas. The water level varies. During and following the winter rain season, the water level will be much higher.
For those interested in antiquities, the highlight here is a Crusader farmhouse from the 12th century.
If you're traveling along the Jerusalem highway and would like to relax for a short hike and/or picnic, this park is worth your time.

We visited the small Ein Hemed National Park near Abu Ghosh and did enjoy viewing the natural springs and pools and ruins of the Kisalon Valley, and as nature lovers, we especially enjoyed the overlook with its nice view of the Kisalon Valley. However, be FOREWARNED: There is an entry fee – 27 shekels per adult, 10 shekels per child – which, in my opinion, is NOT worth it at all! They charge too much for too little. We are members of the Parks Authority and thus have “free” entry into all of the national parks. Bottom Line: If you love nature and have kids and/or grandkids that need to be entertained, and are getting in for free, it is a small but pleasant enough park to visit.
