Jaffa Gate and Damascus are the most known for tourists because most people go through them into old city of Jerusalem. Jaffa Gate is near to Tower of David.

If one uses this gate, he will notice the way from muslim through jewish boroughs, and it is worth going further on outside the old town, to the old jewish market down the ancient road to the mediterranean coast

This gate is a good place to start your exploration of the old city. Passing through provides you with a feel as to what it must have been like many years ago traveling into and out of the city. A guide book or guided tour...More

It was a reference point in and out of the old city. There is a Israeli tourist centre, where you can pick up a free map. They are very helpful. There are toilets next to it.

Jaffa Gate for me was simply a reference point for entering and leaving the Old City. Easy to get an overpriced cab too. Place to enter David's Tower and light show, or enter the ramparts. Not much of a site on its own.

It is one of the most famous gates. The place where also a lot of tours are starting. The name Jaffa Gate is currently used for both the historical Ottoman gate from 1538, and for the wide gap in the city wall adjacent to it...More

Jaffa Gate is one of the seven gates that give access to the Old City of Jerusalem. We stayed near there, in the Armenian Quarter. The gate has a log history, going back to Ottoman times. Jaffa Gate is a favourite souvenir hunting ground.

One of the most famous and popular gates of the Old City of Jerusalem. Jaffa Gate is beautifully kept and very safe. Highly recommended

Many shops around this gate, but watch out for the prices! A simple pomegranate juice can cost 55 shekels there! Be clever, eat only where there are menues and don't be fraid to ask for prices before sitting to drink or eat. This is true...More

There are 8 gates, but this is one of the safest and most accessible from hotels. There are shops and restaurants immediately inside the gate, and free restrooms up a flight of stairs. Watch out for cars!
