After 10 days on pilgrimage visiting so many sights this for me was the most solemn, significant site to celebrate a closing service of thanksgiving. For me also it is the site I believe to be most accurate to scripture as it sits outside the old city walls. It also displays a cave like entrance in the shape of a... More

This is a must if you are to visit Jerusalem it may be where less people go to as most think the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is the real tomb of Jesus. But you must remember it is not important where the real tomb is as long as you believe in Jesus and he is the son of God.... More

If your on foot then this place can be a little hard to find, it's by a bus station in the Muslim part of town, opposite the Damascus Gate of the Old City but in the new part of Jerusalem. It has a slightly controversial reputation, but it sort of accepts it's not quite the special place it could have... More

A must place to visit as well. This is the other said tomb that they buried Jesus in. Without the tourists, this is a great place to stay and have peace and quiet to do some reflections and writing.

This is a beautiful and well maintained garden that includes a tomb that could be that of Jesus. It certainly makes a lot more sense that the tomb would have been some distance from the hill on which Jesus was crucified, unlike the reputed tomb in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Having said that, those who tend these gardens... More

We went back to the Garden Tomb about 5 times. It is so peaceful and the gardens are so well maintained by volunteers. The curio shop is also worth a visit.

Walking a little bit from Damascus gate in direction of bus station you will find this peaceful place where is believed is the Jesus Christ tomb. Well maintained and beautiful gardens give you a relief after long walks through Jerusalem.

This was one of my favorite stops on our trip. It was really interesting to hear the alternate story and be able to envision it 2000 years ago.

I visited the garden Tomb at the end of the day when the place was quiet with hardly anyone else about. It is a beautiful tranquil location and although it is not widely held that this is the tomb where Jesus was buried and rose from, it certainly has that authentic feel to it. The whole garden is beautifully laid... More

The Garden Tomb is located near a rocky escarpment that somewhat resembles a skull (which some believe to be Golgotha) and is an alternative to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre as the actual site of Jesus' burial in Jerusalem. Our guide informed us that in reference to the burial site of Jesus, the Garden Tomb is to more popular... More
