This site is awesome with with a beautiful Herodian house wonderfully preserved. The mosaics are particularly enthralling. I would recommend using the audio tour or hiring a guide though

See the homes and other archaeology of the priests of Herodian Jerusalem. There are mosaics, drawings, Mikvahs, baths and other rooms. Also pottery found in the homes.

This is a fascinating glimpse of Kin Herod's mind/ego at work.It was a little bit of a walk (you are ascending a decent size hill, after all) but the view from the top was worth it.
