It's a quite place where to walk around. It's nice if you just want to spend a few hours knowing the cultural place where Saudis hang out during the weekend. The fort itself is nothing special. But he gold market close by and the few shops make the place a bit more interesting.

This is the place where Great king Saud was born. Behind the walls of the fort is the history of modern Saudi Arabia. Its a must visit for a person visiting Riyadh for First time.

It's free to enter and has amazing display in Arabic and English. You get to know the history of Saudi Arabia and how Riyadh city was before the unity of Saudi Araba and how it has become now. No visit to Riyadh is complete without visiting Al Masmak Citadel!

This is an important place in the history of the country. It is a relatively small fortress with a museum. It is free to visit. It takes less than an hour to take it all in.

Nicely preserved, the fortress is now a well-designed and maintained museum about the history of the modern Saudi state and King Abdulaziz.

Visited this place with the family one evening and really enjoyed reading about the history of Saudi Arabia. We visited during prayer time and so had the place to ourselves. The kids got quite bored towards the end but this wasn't a quiet stuffy museum, so we didn't mind them running around a bit. Definitely worth a visit if you... More

Good history lesson, interesting artifacts, friendly staff, in English and Arabic. It is possible to learn about Saudi Arabia's history and how the Kingdoms grew.
