Behesht-e Zahra is the largest cemetery in the country. It is the resting place for over 1.3 million souls. Important place to visit. Combine it with a visit to Imam Khomeinin shrine, since it is just across the road. This is the place where the victims of Iran-Iraq war are burried, and also the victims of the mass killings in Saudi Arabia. Be respectful.

We walked for around half an hour from the shrine (crossed the metro station, about 15 minutes or so away) and it's worth combining the two if you make the effort to go all the way out there. The graveyard itself is a sad place and it was deserted when we went. Expect to see lots of young boys, pictures... More
