There's something for just about every shopper. There is an extensive selection of butchers as well as the usual perfume and clothing shops. The common dining area serves good food from several restaurants at reasonable prices.

Almubarakiya is an old authentic souk of Kuwait were you can spend a day in it. Apart from meat, fish, vegetable market; you will find a variety of goods there like gold, perfumes, cloths, bags, and households. There is a section of modern local Kuwaiti cafes and Resturants in a place called SOMO " south of mubarakiya outdoor". It is... More

The souk was recommended by friends who has lived in kuwait for some time. It is important to note that the souk doesnt really get going till the evening - many shops are closed till around 5 in the afternoon, I have found, on most days. The souk itself is vibrant on most days and provides an interesting walk while... More

There is a nostalgic feel for Mubarakiya that is fading away. The old market spirit is disappearing and been replaced by modern cafes and restaurants especially the area surrounding the Gulf Bank main building. The public areas have been renovated and new playgrounds for kids were installed opposite the chain of competing restaurants. The fish market and vegetable market hygiene... More

It totally lacks and atmosphere or character. It is more like a covered market that abounds in Europe than the traditional souks that are so wonderful and fun in the Middle East. There are more immigrants than local shopkeepers. Quality is questionable. No wonder, there were no throngs of people or hustle bustle as you would expect in a souq.

It is too different if you compare night visit to a morning visit, I recommended to visit it early in the day as there is not much crowded as the night and the smell is better. You can find fabric, spices, simple clothes, vegetables, fish and plenty of things
