I visited this great Souq with two Syrian friends who were explaining every detail about this Souq located in the middle part of old Damascus the oldest inhabited city in the world . You should visit this market, if you are interested in buying Syrian spices and nuts like pistachio and dried fruits. You have to do your best to get the best price there.

The Souq al-Bizuriyyah, or Spice Bazaar, threads it's way between Straight Street and the Azem Palace. This market is very close to Hamidiyah and the Omyad Mosque and is a fascinating array of spice and herbs shops. You will find some sweets shops also and there is an old traditional "Hammam" located there which is still in use.
