Visited with my girlfriend in mid-Feb. Took a cab from Dubai there and back. Great place to visit. It was interesting, free and the walking tour was quite informative. Ladies will be given a hijab to wear and need to cover their hair at all times. I quite liked it and wouldn't have minded wearing my own. We spent 1... More

I was on a business trip in Abu Dhabi in February 2017 and I visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. My colleague and myself arrived to the Mosque around 6 pm and spent approx. 1,5 h there. As soon as it's getting darker the lights are turning on and the colours start changing with every minute. It's beautiful. Practical information:... More

Arriving at the international airport you will drive by the Mosque on the way into town. At night the blue lighting immediately make the mosque an iconic image of AbuDhabi - and it deserves this distinction. Take the tour, which is in English and enjoy the wonderful lines, lightness and openness of this moslem holy place of worship. So glad... More

The Mosque does not have the history and the feel of the Istanbul Mosques but the sheer size makes it an impressive visit. A must see, specially just 30 minutes before sunset, you will get perfect photography opportunities at this time. Also liked that it is very well organized for Tourists too see, you never feel you are imposing.

Well worth visiting towards the end of the day to join the 5pm free tour. The guide spoke excellent English and was keen to share.

The sight was included in my tour, it's really impressive and worth a visit. I don't know how it is to get individual tickets without a tour.

Looming beauty over the horizon. This beautiful grandeur place is a must-visit! Females must change into an abaya (free) before entering. Or bring a scarf to wrap your hair. Be respectful and do not show shoulders or knees.

Good place to visit again and agin. A very peaceful place. Must go there in full clothes, some burqas are also available for one time use. Well within the city limits and can be visited in 20-40 mins. Do not carry food items.

I visited The Grand Mosque on an opportunity impulse and was glad that I did. I am an open minded westerner and not religious in any way. The Mosque is a fantastic building and the 'tour' allowed to visitors access throughout. Visitors in attire not considered suitable are asked to cover up and tasteful dress is provided for this purpose.... More
