- C GAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates54 contributionsExcellent tour and amazing experience! We had a fantastic tour of the Falcon Hospital complete with seeking an anaesthetised falcon get his claws and beak trimmed, an explanation of the extensive feather graphing process, pictures holding a falcon and I even got to feed a falcon a quail. Amazing experience. Our guide was knowledgeable, fluent in several languages and very entertaining. I highly recommend.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 October 2023
- Trip47148184987Plymouth, United Kingdom5 contributionsThe best trip we did in Abu DhabiThank you for an unforgettable experience. This trip was by far the best thing we did in Abu Dhabi. The staff are so knowledgeable, the birds are beautiful and treated with kindness and respect. We watched a procedure, handled the falcons, saw them feed and toured the hospital. I could have stayed all day!Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 28 October 2023
- JoFiddesLeeds, United Kingdom10 contributionsA unique experienceA wonderful guided tour of the falcon hospital. We had the opportunity to get really close to the falcons, even holding them. The guide was really knowledgeable and we learnt lots of new facts about falcons. Highly recommended.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 October 2023
- Bill CLos Angeles, California56 contributionsI Liked The TourGlad I took this tour. It was interesting. You get to see the birds up close. Hassan was a great tour guide. I did have to wait a bit for a cab ride back to the hotel. It's kind of out of town. Nice cafe. Small gift shop. Worth a visit.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 November 2023
- WotchitChiang Mai, Thailand234 contributionsExtremely entertaining and informativeWas not really sure what to expect with this, popped in while on a lay over. Very glad I did. The tour guide, Hassan, was very funny while also being very knowledgable on the falcon and able to answer any questions people had. But the high light was actually going into the treatment areas and having the chance to see the birds up close and, see the team here actually work on a bird needing a nail trim (which was knocked and could be stroked) and to have the chance to hold the Falcons on gloves and even feed them! Fascinating and well worth a visit.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 January 2024
- Sarah CSheffield, United Kingdom138 contributionsA great tourThis place is great! Our guide was really interesting and knowledgeable. We got to see the falcons having their check ups, then to the falcon hotel, flying area and also see inside the hospital. The visit was well organised and set out. You need to book in advance on the website which is very easy. Our only downsides were that there were no baby changing facilities (seems common in UAE), and also taxis and Ubers don't know its there and struggle to find it! We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Abu Dhabi.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 4 January 2024
- Discover8198616 contributionsThe best experience ever.It was a great experience that I ever had. I knew more knowledge about the Falcon. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I would like to recommend to everyone to come to Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital to know more about Falcon. They are taking care of Falcon very gentle and well.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 20 June 2024
- kieran t3 contributionsThe best spent hours in Abu DhabiThe vet tech who managed the tour was exceptional, in his knowledge and experience. The two hours went quickly leaving us with so much more understanding of the traditions of falconry, the history and interconnectivity with the people here. Great facility so well managed and so worthwhile. Thank you.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 September 2024

it’s a fantastic trip with welcoming environment and interactive activities throughout the hospital trip, a must see attraction to learn more from the signature of UAE.
however, it’s very unpleasant experience for booking the trip via VooTours Tourism, they have exceptional misleading description and booking system online, leading you thought that picking up is included in the price, in which the travelling fare by self is quite expensive that you can go to the falcon hospital by taxi/ booking private car only. The agency representative just sent you message and asked you to go by yourself after payment being settled and stated no refund! The most important is that the agency really overcharged if pick up not included, around 280AED per person. And actually for tickets only, you can book online directly from falcon hospital with the price of around 180AED only! Never use this agency again with such dishonesty.

One of my favourite Tourism Activities in the whole UAE to take visiting Family & Friends. Our guide Hassan was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the Birds & Educated us on them through great humour and storytelling. Watching a live procedure as well as feeding the birds was a highlight.

We arranged the trip ourselves, booking on line was very straight forward. We got a taxi from our hotel and the taxi driver offered to return after the tour to collect us which he did. The tour itself was led by Hassan, who has been mentioned many times here already. He was informative, engaging and made everyone on the tour feel welcome. The tour itself lasts 2 hours and you get to see falcons in the free flying aviary as well as undergoing a procedure in the treatment room. You can then take pictures with one of the birds on your arm. You take the pictures yourself, no pressure to buy pictures or any other type of souvenirs. An excellent tour that we will be repeating on our next visit.

The Falcon Hospital was amazing! We have four kids (ages 4-13) and our guide Hasan was great with them! We saw dozens of falcons up close. We held a saker falcon and an owl. We watched a technician care for a falcon‘a talons and feet. My daughter held another falcon and fed it! The aviary had 25 falcons flying around and was so cool! This was superior to a typical zoo experience as it was just my family on a small personal tour.

We booked a tour on the 16th of Jan on their website. At the appointed time we took an uber to the location provided on the email,
however we couldn't access the hospital as there was construction happening in that areas and barriers were placed around the hospital, so no cars could go around. We then tried another route and tried to phone them, however they did not answer and the other route was blocked as well. I subsequently emailed them, but to date I have received no correspondence from them, nor have we been refunded.
If you do book, please phone them in advance to make sure that you will be able to go for your session, because if not it just becomes a waste of money and time.

Absolutely the best thing we did in Abu Dhabi, hands down. If you have any desire to learn more about Falcons and Falconry this is a must-do. Our guide, Hassan, was incredibly knowledgeable but just as importantly, funny! He was able to keep a crowd that spoke at least four different languages, engaged for the entire tour. It was amazing to be up close and personal to witness a bird “pedicure” and also to watch a feeding from very close up. Even watching a surgery in action was amazing and shows how much these birds are really cared for.
I can’t say it enough: do this tour!

Our tour guide, Hassan, was funny and informative and kept our two minor children engaged during the tour. We got to see an actual procedure performed on one of the falcons there, held a falcon on our arm, and my wife got to feed a falcon. This was an awesome experience that I would definitely do again!

We had a fantastic time at the Falcon Hospital. We learnt so much about Falcons, the breeds, breeding, habitat, care, nature etc and the entire team there was informative and very happy to answer our questions. The patient ‘waiting room’ has to be seen to be believed. Our guide, Fahid, was terrific and he has a cheeky sense of humour. The tour was approx 90 mins. Getting there from our Corniche hotel by taxi was AED100 each way with a tip and took about 35 mins. Just ensure your taxi driver knows where to go - ours wasn’t familiar with the hospital and fortunately we asked the hotel concierge to ensure he loaded the address into Google maps.

If you want to do something more local then this is a great side trip when in Abu Dhabi. The tour takes you through the facility and you get to hold a falcon. We also got to hold a small owl which was very cute. The guide is very engaging and the staff that shows the hospital area was very nice. Learned a lot about falcons and their care. We got to feed a falcon - very strong beaks!
This is not a normal tourist attraction so don’t read too much into the negative reviews. This is a working animal hospital. It is also a distance outside of the city center so allow time for a taxi or Uber. It shows up well on google maps.

This place is currently so hard to find. At the moment, one of the roads to the hospital is closed. Google maps has not updated this. We got to the closed exit and shortly afterwards we received a phone call to let us know that the road was closed and that we should take a detour. The detour was complicated and we got lost. There is a small, dirt road just before Exit 41 on the E20 and if you miss it, you have to do a 20 minute loop to get back. There is limited signing and lots of it is out of date. We were lost for two hours following one bad lead after another. After 1.5 hours we were sent a live location but both my in car navigation system and google maps couldn’t get us there due to road works and changes. It would have been helpful to have been sent updated directions after booking; the staff were obviously aware that there were problems. At 10.15am we were told that if we couldn’t find it in the next 30 minutes we could rebook. By 10.45 we were being told that we could be accommodated if we could get there by 11.15 but couldn’t rebook. Stressed and lost for two hours on unfamiliar roads we eventually had to give up and didn’t get to the Falcon Hospital. I would advise the team there to send the location and a map before the day of the tour and to give a consistent message to list visitors. Extremely disappointed.

Medicine is the cleanest on the planet. But that is why in the Emirates, medical workers are allowed to go in uniform. Why not forbid to wear them. Is it a street style medical uniform? Where it is seen, so that medical staff do not change clothes at work before going out into the street. Please take strict measures for this.
Written 28 January 2020
I always felt a little disgusted in New York City when I saw people with a hospital uniform on traveling in the subways or buses, or standing outside during a break smoking a cigarette and walking into cafes or restaurants for lunch. In the hospital I worked at in Italy, nurses were not allowed to go outside in their hospital uniforms. The Falcon Hospital that was under discussion on a post does not have human patients and the only people I saw walking outside the treatment area for the birds were the tourists and the guides. I personally did not see people who were working in the treatment area for the falcons walking outside.

Is there a tour offered from Dubai? I will need transport.
Written 8 August 2019
You can make your reservations on line for the tour at the Falcon Hospital. You can get to Abu Dhabi from Dubai by bus it is only 25 dh at the bus stop in Abu Dhabi you can get a taxi to take you to the Falcon Hospital. If your taxi driver doesn’t know where it is. Get out of the taxi and fine another taxi. People are very friendly all around and very safe to ask for help to get to the Falcon Hospital. Believe me is not very difficult. You might need to tell your driver to come back to get you after the tour since the Hospital is a little bit away from the city. The whole thing will be a fun and nice experience.

Official website says prior booking is required for visitor tour.
Couldn't figure out where to book.
Question to those who've reviewed the falcon hospital- did you guys just walk in at 10 AM or did you book and took confirmation? If so from where/whom?
Written 11 April 2018
We rang them up approx. 2 hours before the start of the tour at 10 am and enquired about the possibility of joining a tour. They said it was no problem. They did not hand over tickets when we paid.
Written 11 April 2018
Has anyone tried their tour with lunch option and was it good value? Was the tent indoors (air-conditioned) or outdoors? I'd like to book for the family on Saturday 7th April.

Whilst I appreciate that this is an elderly post it may be helpful to others to get a price comparison. I had emailed the hospital prior to arriving in Abu Dhabi and was told I could book just the tour directly with the for around 178 dirhams. I waited u til I arrived as I wasn’t sure about other things I wanted to do and which was the best order, but having sotprted this our hotel concierge made me a booking for the very next day at the same price. We travelled about thirty minutes by taxi each way. Even including the price of the taxis, 60 each journey for two of u, we were way better off booking directly compared with the 370 per person quoted by one tour operator. I don’t think that price included a lunch. So make your own way. The hospital will organise taxi returns for you and save some cash for another fab experience. Or donate to the hospital!

Good afternoon! Is there an age limit for children visiting the Falcon Hospital? Many thanks!
Written 12 February 2018
I would be surprised if there is an age limit. In fact, younger people will love this tour. Have fun!

Hi,
How much would it cost per night to board my cat there?
Thank you
Written 8 July 2017
A bit late in answering but your cat would end up being a falcons dinner.
